Welcome to PodBreeze

This is a podcatcher that aims to being very user friendly and accessible to users of all levels. It's also intended to be as little in the way as possible - set it and forget it, and just listen or watch your media.

To use PodBreeze to its fullest, you need a UMS/MSC compatible MP3 player, so that PodBreeze can move your podcasts onto the player.

Since PodBreeze can't access an iPod/iPhone without iTunes, we suggest that you use iTunes for the downloading as well as moving the podcasts to your device.

For some other devices, PodBreeze can be used for downloading, and add podcasts to Windows Media Player for syncing to the device.

A few highlights of PodBreeze:

  • The podcast directory features an innovative information retriever that gives you more information about the podcast than the title, which is what other podcatchers give you
  • Integrated support for multiple players in the Player tab to be flexible and suit your viewing or listening habits - tell me how to integrate your player and I'll do it
  • Flood protection means saying an eternal goodbye to the pain of podcasts regurgitating their content - you're in control and decide what to download
  • Can import your Mevio channels - manage your subscriptions with Mevio, and download them with PodBreeze
  • It's a native Windows program written in Delphi - it should be more efficient and consume less resources than podcatchers written in Python or Java
  • Internal web server for browser access to media
  • Integrates with Songbird for easy media consumption
  • Can import your books from Podiobooks.com to download free and legal audio books
  • If you tell PodBreeze how much bandwidth you have, you can limit it to use a fraction of that at times - like when you wish to surf

Plans for the future includes torrent support for distributing the bandwidth load, adding even more information to the display in the Podcast directories tab, and also adding support for more media players. It might also become possible to directly move podcasts to players that requires Windows Media Player right now, but that's uncertain.

If you're having problems with the menus in PodBreeze not working with your screen reader application, you can try to download the accessible version.
